Apple Cider Vinegar Remedy for Hemorrhoids

Apple Cider Vinegar Remedy for Hemorrhoids

Apple cider vinegar has been known to help many hemorrhoid sufferers reduce symptoms associated with hemorrhoids.

Applied as a topical solution, apple cider vinegar can produce results in just a few weeks. However, while natural hemorrhoid treatments can help reduce symptoms, the only way to fully get rid of hemorrhoids is with a treatment such as the CRH O’Regan System.

Whether you’re considering a banding procedure or the apple cider vinegar approach, it’s important for you and your doctor to discuss and compare treatments.

A Natural Remedy May Help You Temporarily

The natural agent in unpasteurized vinegar has been shown to shrink and reduce inflammation, thus providing relief from hemorrhoid symptoms like itchiness and pain.

How to Apply

Typically, apple cider vinegar is applied to the affected area two to three times a day for this purpose. After a few weeks, some patients report a noticeable reduction in the size of their hemorrhoids (reduced swelling) and milder symptoms.

For an easy topical treatment, do the following:

  1. Soak a cotton ball or toilet paper in the vinegar
  2. Apply directly to the affected area

The acidity may cause a stinging sensation at first, but should subside after a few moments. Some patients report a stinging for a minute or two, followed by pain relief that can last a couple of hours. You can also add a few tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to your sitz bath for added relief.

Of course, this is temporary and should only be used to alleviate the discomfort while seeking out a more permanent solution. If you’re hoping to completely eliminate your pain and discomfort, speak to a trained physician to accurately diagnose your condition and prescribe treatment.

Warnings & Side Effects

Users have reported the following side effects when using apple cider vinegar to treat their hemorrhoids.

i have tried apple cider vinegar undiluted using a cotton ball. The pain of the sting was excrutiating but I thought I have to tolerate if I have to get any results…. but the result I got was that the ACV burnt my skin and caused it to get infected.

ACV doesn’t seem to be doing anything at all, other than making them more tender. I’ve been applying to one hem to see if there was any improvement. Nothing after four days at all. Perhaps mine have just been there for too long.

I agree. I take ACV orally and tried it topically for hemmorhoid type problem. It was the worst thing I could ever have done. Intense burning and swelling caused a normally 3 day issue into an extreme 1 week issue in which sitting was almost impossible. If anyone tries this, I would be very careful and wash the ACV off with any sign of uncomfortable burn.
