Founded in 2000, CRH Medical Corporation is dedicated to providing compassionate care and informative educational resources to patients.
Back in 2002, we first encountered what is now known as the CRH O’Regan System, and immediately saw its potential for improving life for the millions of people who suffer from hemorrhoids.
We began training doctors across the United States to offer this patented, FDA-approved procedure in 2008, allowing us to make this important treatment available to people across the country. Today, over 1,000 physicians’ offices offer the CRH solution, with thousands of patients getting complete relief from their hemorrhoids each year.

Chairman of the Board & Chief Executive OfficerDr. Tushar Ramani brings over 30 years of experience in the anesthesia industry to CRH Medical Corporation. Prior to joining CRH, Dr. Ramani co-founded Anesthetix, a national provider of anesthesiology and pain management services offering anesthesia department clinical, operational, and financial evaluation, optimization and management. After Anesthetix was acquired by TeamHealth Holdings, Inc., a physician services organization listed on the NYSE at the time, Dr. Ramani remained as President of TeamHealth’s Anesthesia Division, growing it to over $300M in revenue. Dr. Ramani has co-developed several other anesthesia-related service companies in addition to Anesthetix, including a full-service healthcare staffing firm and an anesthesia revenue cycle management company.
More recently, Dr. Ramani worked with Summit Partners’ Healthcare & Life Sciences team as an Executive in Residence to identify growth investment opportunities in healthcare and evaluate prospects of existing investments. In connection with this appointment, he served as CEO of portfolio company, MedOptions, Inc., the nation’s largest behavioral health services provider to post-acute care facilities.
Formerly a practicing anesthesiologist and interventional pain management specialist, Dr. Ramani attended Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, interned at Morristown Memorial Hospital, and completed residency in Anesthesiology and Interventional Pain Management at Mount Sinai Medical School, New York.
Chief Financial OfficerMr. Bear has served as one of our officers since March 2006. Prior to CRH, he served as first the Vice President, Finance and then the Chief Financial Officer of ID Biomedical Corporation. He received his degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
VP, Commercial DevelopmentTom Sanders joined CRH in 2020 to lead and support the growth of the CRH O’Regan System. Mr. Sanders has extensive experience leading business development, strategic planning, and commercial and operational activities. He joins CRH formerly from The GI Alliance, a Waud Capital Partners-sponsored gastrointestinal services organization where he served as Senior Vice President of Business Development and Strategic Growth. Prior to joining GI Alliance, Mr. Sanders was founder, and Chief Executive Officer of Captify Health, which provided technology-enabled services for physician practices, health plans and health systems.
Medical DirectorDr. Guttenplan joined CRH in 2006 as the Co-Medical Director of the Centers for Colorectal Health in Metropolitan Atlanta, and became the Medical Director for CRH in 2008. He graduated from the Emory University School of Medicine and completed his residence in General Surgery at the Emory University Affiliated Hospitals. He has been practicing general surgery in metropolitan Atlanta since 1987. As our Medical Director, he has trained over 1,500 surgeons and gastroenterologists in the use of the CRH O’Regan System, and has also been a guest lecturer at numerous medical schools, hospitals and GI societies, as well as regional and national scientific meetings.
