Eric Blum, M.D.

Dr. BlumDr. Eric Blum was born and raised in Pikesville, Maryland. He graduated with highest honors from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia in 1998 and received his M.D. degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 2002. He completed his internal medicine residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri in 2005, followed by his gastroenterology fellowship at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio in 2009. While in Cleveland, Dr. Blum also received his M.S. in clinical research.

Dr. Blum is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. His special interests include Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, and microscopic colitis (lymphocytic/collagenous colitis), but welcomes any patient with gastrointestinal problems.

Dr. Blum is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

Steven Epstein, M.D.

Dr. EpsteinDr. Steven Epstein was born and raised in Baltimore. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Union College in Schenectady, New York and received his M.D. degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Maryland and his gastroenterology fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia where he received training in diagnostic and interventional endoscopy as well as hepatology.

Dr. Epstein is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. His special interests include inflammatory bowel disease, gastro-intestinal cancers, and therapeutic endoscopy.

Todd D. Heller, M.D.

Dr. HellerDr. Todd Heller is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Yeshiva University and its Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He did his Internal Medicine residency at Montefiore Hospital and his fellowship in Gastroenterology at St. Luke's Hospital.

Dr. Heller has a particular interest in inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis), interventional biliary endoscopy, and liver disease. A Fellow of the American College of Physicians and American College of Gastroenterology, Dr. Heller is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

Loc T. Le, M.D.

Dr. LeDr. Le graduated from Union College in Schenectady, New York, Magna Cum Laude, with a degree in Mathematics and Biology in 1984. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, New York in 1988. Dr. Le completed his Internship and Residency at the Sinai Hospital/Johns Hopkins Hospital Internal Medicine Residency Program, and his Gastroenterology Fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia where he received extensive training in therapeutic gastrointestinal endoscopy and hepatology. He is a Board Certified Gastroenterologist.

Dr. Le holds the ranks of Assistant Professor of Medicine, University of Maryland School of Medicine and Instructor in Medicine, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. As a teaching faculty member at Sinai Hospital and Harbor Hospital, he received the Golden Apple "Best Teacher of Year" Awards twice, in 1996 and 1998.

Lila Tarmin, M.D.

Dr. TarminDr. Lila Tarmin graduated from Barnard College and Georgetown Medical School. She completed a Residency in Internal medicine at Georgetown University Hospital and a Fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Maryland.

Dr. Tarmin's research in gastro- intestinal oncology and inflammatory bowel disease has appeared in a number of professional journals. She has a personal interest in colon cancer screening, irritable bowel syndrome and treatment of obesity. A Fellow of the American College of Physicians, Dr. Tarmin is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

Ernest Tsao, M.D.

Dr. TsaoDr. Tsao earned his medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine. He completed an internal medicine internship and residency program at Stony Brook University Medical Center in 2004. He continued his training at Stony Brook with a fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

Dr. Tsao is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He now holds the rank of clinical assistant professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Dr. Tsao was given the 2008 Golden Apple award at Harbor Hospital for outstanding teaching. His research on gastrointestinal disorders has been published in peer-reviewed journals, and he is the recipient of several academic awards and honors.

Dr. Tsao's professional interests include colorectal cancer, upper digestive tract cancer, esophageal disorders, interventional biliary endoscopy and hepatology.
