Dr. Mertesdorf
Dr. James Mertesdorf received his medical degree from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in 1978. He completed his internal medicine residency at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and his Gastroenterology fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia.
Dr. Mertesdorf has been practicing in Wilmington, NC since 1990 with special interest in colorectal cancer screening and prevention and inflammatory bowel disease. He is a member of several GI societies including the American Gastroenterological Association, American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America and the NC Society of Gastroenterology.
