Irving M. Pike, MD, FACG

Irving M. Pike is a graduate of Emory University and the Medical College of Georgia. He subsequently continued his training in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center, Dallas (Parkland Memorial Hospital, Dallas VAMC, Southwestern Medical School). He remained at UTHSCD for his Gastroenterology fellowship. Dr. Pike joined Gastroenterology Consultants now a division of Gastrointestinal and Liver Specialists of Tidewater, PLLC in Virginia Beach, Virginia in 1983 following completion of his fellowship.

Dr. Pike has written and lectured on gastroenterology practice management and quality improvement in gastrointestinal endoscopic procedures. He has over twenty years experience in running an office-based endoscopy unit. He currently is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology's Board of Trustees. He is the current chairman of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy's Ambulatory Endoscopy Special Interest group and recently co-chaired the American College of Gastroenterology and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy's joint taskforce for developing Endoscopic Quality Indicators.

Dr. Pike and his wife Randy have two children, Sarah and Mark. Dr. Pike's non-professional interests include photography, hiking, fishing and travel with family and friends.
