Dr. John Dutro
John Dutro, MDDr. Dutro is an Ohio native and graduated from Muskingum College with a bachelor's degree in Biology with Honors in 1978. He then attended Wright State University where he received his M.D. degree in 1982 from the Boonshoft School of Medicine. His 5 year residency in general surgery was performed in the Wright State University Affiliated Hospitals. He has been in private practice since 1987 and began coming to Wayne Hospital in 2007 to help fill a need when there was a shortage of surgeons in Greenville. Beginning in 2010, he is now a full-time general surgeon and surgical endoscopist at Wayne Hospital.
Dr. Dutro has been Board Certified in surgery since 1988 and additionally has been certified in Surgical Critical Care since 1991, and has served as an I.C.U. medical director for over 10 years. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and Associate Clinical Professor of both surgery and emergency medicine at Wright State University.
Dr. Dutro has been deeply involved in medical education during his professional career, having published numerous surgical articles. He has been an Assistant Director of the Surgical Residency at Wright State University and has received awards as the top teacher for both medical students and surgical and emergency medicine residents on 4 separate occasions.
