Jose L. Hurtado, M.D.
Dr. Hurtado was born in Douglas AZ. He joined the medical staff of Tucson Gastroenterology in 1988. His undergraduate education was completed at the University of Arizona with degrees in Microbiology and Medical Technology. He received his Medical Degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed an Internal Medicine Residency in Tucson, Arizona followed by his fellowship in Gastroenterology at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Hurtado has been in Tucson for over 20 years and has served in multiple hospital department head positions at Tucson Medical Center and St. Joseph’s Hospital over the years. Dr. Hurtado is Board Certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine and is a member of American College of Gastroenterology and American Gastroenterology Association.
John J. McNerney, Jr., M.D., FACP, FACG
Dr. McNerney was born in Washington, D.C. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Georgetown University with a major in biology and a minor in philosophy. He received his medical degree from Northwestern University School of Medicine and he completed his Gastroenterology fellowship at Brooke Army Medical Center in Fort Sam Houston, Texas. He served in the US Army Medical Corps prior to joining the medical staff of Tucson Gastroenterology. Dr. McNerney is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Gastroenterology. He is a member in the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He lives in Tucson with his wife and 3 children. He enjoys traveling and outdoor activities with his family.
John K. Shekleton, M.D.
Dr. Shekleton was born in Key West, Florida and raised in Peoria, Illinois. He graduated Cum Laude from St. Louis University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Chemistry. He is a member of the Alpha Sigma Nu Jesuit Honor Society. Dr. Shekleton received his Medical Degree from Southern Illinois School of Medicine, Springfield, Illinois. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at St John’s Mercy Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri. He completed his Gastroenterology Fellowship at Tulane University Affiliated Hospitals, New Orleans, Louisiana. He is a member of the Musser Burch Honor Society. Dr. Shekleton is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology. Prior to relocating to Arizona, he practiced gastroenterology in Frankfort, Kentucky. He served as President of the Franklin County Medical Society. Dr. Shekleton enjoys traveling with his family. He also enjoys attending concerts and sporting events. An avid Manchester United Soccer fan, Dr. Shekleton plays on a local soccer team.
