Center Medical Director: Mark W. Gordon, MD, FACS
Mark W. Gordon, M.D. is a board-certified general surgeon. He is a graduate of Ursinus College and of Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After medical school, Dr. Gordon interned at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospitals, and then completed an academic residency at State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. During this time, he served as an American Cancer Society Research Fellow.
Following training, Dr. Gordon served two years as a staff surgeon in the U.S. Army. Since then he has served the community for over twenty five years. Among his many professional society memberships he is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. He has served as Chief of General Surgery in both the Memorial Hospital System and Palmetto General Hospital.
Dr. Gordon is active in community charities. He and his wife, Sandi-Jo have two children.
