Eduardo B.V. da Silveira, M.D., MSc

Dr. da Silveira Dr. Eduardo B.V. da Silveira received his medical degree from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. He performed his internship, residency in Internal Medicine and his Gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Miami. He also obtained a Masters degree in Clinical Epidemiology at McGill University in Montréal where underwent a third tier training in biliary and pancreatic endoscopy. He then completed an additional year of endoscopy ultrasound (EUS) at Stanford University.

Besides conventional endoscopic procedures, he is also specialized in ERCP, EUS, and Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR). He has been very active in the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE).

Dr. da Silveira speaks 4 languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese and French). Dr. da Silveira joined San Jose Gastroenterology in March 2009.

Brian Saul Levitt, M.D.

Dr. Levitt Dr. Brian S. Levitt graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. degree in Psychology from University of Pennsylvania and went on to receive his medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School. After his residency in internal medicine at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital - Weill Cornell Medical Center, he completed his Gastroenterology fellowship training at Montefiore Medical Center at the Albert Einstein College at Medicine in New York.

As a Board Certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine, Dr. Levitt is extensively trained in all aspects of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. His interests include diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy/colonoscopy, inflammatory bowel disease, and viral hepatitis.  He is also proficient in Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP).

Huy Anh Nguyen, M.D., AGAF

Dr. Nguyen Dr. Huy A. Nguyen received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School. After finishing his Internal Medicine residency training at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, he completed his gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Minnesota Medical School with a defined interest in hepatitis C. He served as Associate Chief of Gastroenterology at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center for two years after completing his fellowship.

As a Board Certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine, his primary interest is in Inflammatory Bowel diseases, Liver disease, and Viral Hepatitis B and C. He has published articles in the American Journal of Gastroenterology and other peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Nguyen has been in practice in San Jose since 2001, and joined San Jose Gastroenterology in January 2005.  In 2009, Dr. Nguyen was recognized as a Fellow of the American Gastroenterological Association (AGAF)

Khanh Kim Nguyen, M.D.

Dr. Nguyen Dr. Khanh K. Nguyen graduated with a BS degree in Biochemistry from the University of California, Davis and received his medical degree from the University of Southern California. After completing his Internal Medicine residency training at VA Wadsworth/UCLA, Dr. Nguyen went on to receive his gastroenterology subspecialty training at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine.
As a Board Certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine, his primary interest is in biliary tract diseases. Dr. Nguyen also has expertise in diagnostic and therapeutic Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP).

Dr. Nguyen has been in private practice since 2001 and joined San Jose Gastroenterology in January 2005.

Huy Ngoc Trinh, M.D., AGAF

Dr. Trinh Dr. Huy N. Trinh received his medical degree from Northwestern University School of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine residency training at VA Wadsworth/UCLA and his gastroenterology fellowship at the University of California, Irvine. 

As a Board Certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine, Dr. Trinh is primarily interested in viral hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and liver cancer. He is also very active in the aspect of clinical research for drug treatment of viral hepatitis B and C. His research articles were published in peer-reviewed journals including Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Journal of Hepatology.

Dr. Trinh has been in practice since 1991 and is a founding member of San Jose Gastroenterology. In 2008, Dr. Trinh was recognized as a Fellow of the American Gastroenterological Association (AGAF).
