Dr. William N. Baskin
Dr. William N. Baskin is clinical professor of medicine and GI Curriculum Director at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford and is in private practice at Rockford Gastroenterology Associates, Ltd. since 1977.  Dr. Baskin earned his medical degree from the University of Missouri Medical School, Columbia, Missouri.  He completed his internship and residency at the University of Missouri Medical Center, Columbia, Missouri as well as his fellowship in gastroenterology.  Dr. Baskin is on the active staff at Saint Anthony Medical Center and SwedishAmerican Hospital where he has served as Nutritional Support Director since 1985.

Dr. Baskin is the recipient of many outstanding teaching awards including: six Golden Apple Awards, three Student Council Awards for Outstanding Clinical Instructor, and the Faculty Distinguished Teaching Award, all through the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford.  Dr. Baskin is also a member of many medical societies such as the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American College of Gastroenterology, American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, American Medical Association, American Medical Student Association as well as local medical organizations.
Dr. Baskin's special clinical interests include reflux esophagitis, inflammatory bowel disease, and he has achieved national recognition for the development of nutritional support enteral access devices and techniques.

Dr. John J. DeGuide
Dr. John J. DeGuide is a Board Certified Gastroenterologist, and joined Rockford Gastroenterology Associates, Ltd in 2003 . Dr. DeGuide completed his medical school at Loyola University, Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago, residency in Internal Medicine, and a fellowship in Gastroenterology at Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland AFB in Texas. Prior to moving to Rockford, Dr. DeGuide held the position of chief of the Gastroenterology at Wright-Patterson USAF Medical Center in Ohio. Additionally he was the former co-director of the GI department at Rockford Health System.

Dr. DeGuide is a fellow of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American College of Gastroenterology and of the American College of Physicians. Dr. DeGuide is on the Executive Board of the Winnebago County Medical Society. He also is a delegate to the Illinois State Medical Society. Dr. DeGuide is trained in the broad discipline of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

Dr. James T. Frakes
Dr. James T. Frakes is Clinical Professor Emeritus of Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford and is in private practice at Rockford Gastroenterology Associates, Ltd.  He is an expert in the fields of therapeutic pancreaticobiliary endoscopy (ERCP), practice management and endoscopic ambulatory surgery centers.

Accomplished in teaching and clinical research, Dr. Frakes has authored over 100 publications in distinguished scientific journals, has edited four books and has written 13 book chapters dealing with gastrointestinal endoscopy.  He has presented approximately 300 invited lectures at national and international gastroenterology meetings and has directed 30 national or international courses.  A leader in teaching, medical education, clinical practice and organized medicine, Dr. Frakes has received the Faculty Distinguished Teaching Award, the Faculty Distinguished Service Award and the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford.  In 2007 he received two major awards from organized gastroenterology; he was recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) for long-term contributions to the field of gastrointestinal endoscopy and to the ASGE and was designated a Master of the American College of Gastroenterology (MACG) for stature and achievement in clinical gastroenterology and teaching, and contributions to the ACG.  He has been selected by physician colleagues for inclusion in the book The Best Doctors in America yearly since 1996.

Dr. Frakes is a past president of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE).  He has also served on numerous ASGE committees and several committees of the AGA and ACG and the World Gastroenterology Organization (WGO/OMGE).  He has been designated a Fellow of the ASGE, AGA and the American College of Physicians, as well as a Master of the ACG.  Outside of medicine, he serves on the University of Illinois Foundation and the Athletic Board, and is a past member of the board of directors of the University of Illinois Alumni Association.

Dr. Frakes earned his bachelor�s degree and master�s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine.  He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Missouri Medical Center, Columbia, Missouri, and his fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

He currently resides in Rockford, Illinois with his wife; they have two grown children.

Dr. Roger L. Greenlaw
Roger L. Greenlaw, M.D., is founder of Rockford Gastroenterology Associates, Ltd. He completed internal medicine training at the University of Missouri in 1972 and gastroenterology fellowship at Yale in 1975. Dr. Greenlaw is board certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology and Holistic Medicine. He serves on the faculty of the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford and has attained the rank of Clinical Professor of Medicine. Dr. Greenlaw is on active staff at SwedishAmerican Hospital and OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center.

Dr. Greenlaw�s philosophy has been to promote the consultative practice of gastroenterology through patient, public and physician continuing education. This group practice places special emphasis on prevention, screening, early detection with �state-of-the-art care� for people with digestive diseases.
For years a growing interest in preventive medicine and health promotion led Dr. Greenlaw to pursue education in complementary and alternative medicine with board certification from the American Board of Holistic Medicine in December 2000. He is a member of the American Holistic Medical Association, American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine.

Dr. Greenlaw practices holistic gastroenterology with a special emphasis on lifestyle medicine (the role of diet, exercise and stress management in health). He believes in the integration of traditional western medicine with the knowledge and practices of the other major healthcare systems of the world. Research in lifestyle medicine has resulted in publication of several articles in peer reviewed journals.

Dr. Donald E. Vidican
Dr. Donald E. Vidican is clinical associate professor of medicine and director of the Digestive Disease Unit at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, Illinois.  He is in private practice at Rockford Gastroenterology Associates, Ltd.  Dr. Vidican earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Chicago, Illinois.  He completed his internship and residency at the University of Missouri Medical Center, Columbia, Missouri.  Dr. Vidican completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School.  Dr. Vidican is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.  Dr. Vidican has served both as Past President of the Medical Section and Staff President of OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center.  Dr. Vidican is on the active staff at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center and SwedishAmerican Hospital.

On a personal side, Dr. Vidican enjoys family time spent with his wife and two teenage children.  He is an advocate of an active lifestyle.  Dr. Vidican enjoys running, biking and walking his dogs.

Dr. Vidican�s special interests include treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn�s and Ulcerative Colitis) and argon plasma coagulation treatment of polyps and vascular lesions of the gastrointestinal tract.  Dr. Vidican welcomes the challenge and opportunity to care for patients with gastrointestinal diseases.
