Carl L. Raso, M.D.
Dr. Raso graduated from St. Georges University School of Medicine in 1982. He completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Yale University, Norwalk Hospital. Dr. Raso completed his Gastroenterology Fellowship at Columbia University College of Physician and Surgeons, Harlem Hospital in 1987. During Dr. Raso’s Gastroenterology Fellowship, he authored “Transnasal Cytology for The Diagnosis of Candida Esophagitis in AIDS” as well as “A Review of Tuberculin Peritonitis in the United States” which were accepted for publication.
Dr. Raso has been in Private Practice in Toms River and an Attending Physician in Gastroenterology at Community Medical Center since 1987. Dr. Raso has served at Community Medical Center as Treasurer Medical Staff in 1988, Vice President Medical Staff in 1999, President Medical Staff 2001-2002 and member of Medical Executive Committee 2003-2004. He is an active member of the Board of Trustees since 2005.
Dr. Raso is the Medical Director of Ocean Endosurgery Center in 2006, a role he began in 2006. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees at Community Medical Center.
Teresa Tacopina, M.D.
Dr. Tacopina graduated from St Georges University School of Medicine in 2002. She completed her Internal Medicine Internship and residency at the University of Connecticut Health Center in 2005. She was chosen to be a Chief Medical Resident at the University of Connecticut from 2005-2006. After completing her Internal Medicine residency, Dr. Tacopina returned to her hometown of New York where she completed her fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn, NY.
Dr. Tacopina is an active member of several national gastrointestinal organizations including the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopists (ASGE). She has presented several abstracts/posters at the annual ACG meetings during her fellowship training.
Dr. Tacopina is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology/Hepatology.
Scott Cohen, D.O.
Dr. Cohen attended the University of Medicine and Dentistry. He completed an Internship in Internal Medicine, Residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowship in Gastroenterology at Cooper Hospital. Dr. Cohen is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He’s a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Physicians, American Gastrointestinal Association, American College of Gastroenterology and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.
