Jack A. Di Palma, M.D.

Dr. Di PalmaDr. Di Palma trained in medicine at New York Medical College, Valhalla, New York and did a residency in Internal Medicine at USAF Medical Center, Keesler, Biloxi, Mississippi. After completing his fellowship in gastroenterology at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, he served on their teaching faculty. In 1987, Dr. Di Palma established the Division of Gastroenterology at the University of South Alabama which he now directs.

Dr. Di Palma's scholarly interests are in various areas of digestive disorders and physiology. He has contributed over 250 published articles, reviews, book chapters and abstracts. Dr. Di Palma directs the gastroenterology fellowship training program and the division is known for teaching to medical students, residents, physician's assistants and nurse practitioners.

Dr. Di Palma is active in the gastroenterology associations and organized medicine. He was on the Board of Censors of the Medical Society of Mobile County and was the Chairman of the Mobile County Board of Health. He is the Past-President of the American College of Gastroenterology. Dr. Di Palma is presently serving on the foundation board of the World Gastroenterology Organization.

 

Jorge L. Herrera, M.D.

Dr. HerreraDr. Jorge L. Herrera is Professor of Medicine and Assistant Director, Division of Gastroenterology at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in Mobile, Alabama. He completed an Internal Medicine residency at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Denver, Colorado, and a fellowship in Gastroenterology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C. in 1986. After serving as Assistant Chief of Gastroenterology at Walter Reed, Dr. Herrera moved to the University of South Alabama in 1989 where he serves as the director of hepatology. Dr. Herrera has an active clinical adult gastroenterology and hepatology practice as well as research interests in the area of liver diseases.

 

Reynaldo Rodriguez, M.D.

Dr. RodriguezDr. Reynaldo Rodriguez is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology at the University of South Alabama, College of Medicine in Mobile, Alabama. He completed an Internal Medicine residency and fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of South Alabama Medical Center. He attended the University of North Texas State Osteopathic Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Texas for his Medical degree. Dr. Rodriguez moved to the University of South Alabama in 1995 and has an active clinical adult gastroenterology and advanced endoscopy practice as well as research interests.
