Joshua B. Colton, M.D.
Dr. Joshua Colton is a board-certified gastroenterologist with Minnesota Gastroenterology, P.A. in the Twin Cities. He is based at the practice’s Maplewood office.
Dr. Colton completed his medical internship, residency and fellowship at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, with his final year of fellowship spent as the pancreatobiliary therapeutic endoscopy fellow. His most recently published work was on quality indicators and complications of ERCP (Gastrointestinal Endoscopy 2009; 70:457-67). It is the largest study to date on community-based ERCP.
Dr. Colton is a member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American Gastroenterology Association and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America.
His special interests are pancreatobiliary disease, inflammatory bowel disease and treatment for hemorrhoids. He is also interested in colon cancer screening and performs more than 1,100 colonoscopies each year.
Dr. Colton began the hemorrhoid banding program at Minnesota Gastroenterology and currently serves as the chair of the practice’s Hemorrhoid Banding Subcommittee.
