Raman Patel, MD
Dr. Patel is a board certified Gastroenterologist, was born and raised in India.
He attended one of the oldest medical schools in India, followed by residency and
Teaching in the same school from 1965 to 1976. He completed an Internal Medicine residency in the United Kingdom earning Membership of Royal College of Physicians and moved to the United States in 1977, where he went through residency at New York Medical College and gastroenterology fellowship from State University, New York. Dr. Patel is a member of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom, and fellow of American College of Gastroenterology and American College of Physicians. He has been a practicing Gastroenterologist in the Antelope Valley since 1982 and one of the founders of High Desert Gastroenterology, Inc.
Apart from taking care of gastroenterology patients, he enjoys clinical research, playing tennis, hiking/fitness and reading. He has two children, raised in the Antelope Valley, his son is a Gastroenterologist and his daughter is a Neurologist specializing in Multiple Sclerosis. Dr. Patel is fluent in Gujarat and Hindi.
Kumaravel S. Perumalsamy, MD
Dr. Perumalsamy (Peru) has graduated from Thanjavur Medical College, Thanjavur, India. He completed his Internal Medicine residency from Coney Island Hospital, Brooklyn, NY. He completed his Gastroenterology fellowship from Maimonides Medical Center Brooklyn, NY. He completed his clinical fellowship in liver disease from Mount Sinai Hospital, New York. Dr. Perumalsamy is board certified in Internal Medicine and in Gastroenterology.
Dr. Perumalsamy is an active member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterology Association and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
He has special interest in advanced endoscopies and liver diseases. He is the recipient of the prestigious David Faulkenstein Award in 2008 by New York Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
Dr. Perumalsamy’s wife is an engineer and they have two sons.
