Madhuri R. Meka, MD
Dr. Meka is board certified in internal medicine. She received her medical degree from Andhra Medical College, University of Health Sciences, Visakhapatnam, India. She completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Drexel University, Philadelphia and her fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, NC. She is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy. She is married with 2 children.
Robert M. Strauss, M.D.
Dr. Strauss received his medical degree from the UNAM in Mexico City which is where he grew up. He then completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Emory University and went on to do his Gastroenterology Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He then returned to Atlanta and joined the Digestive Disease Division at Emory University School of Medicine becoming Chief of Gastrointestinal Oncology at the Emory Clinic and Emory University Hospital.
Dr. Strauss has been in private practice for 10 years and enjoys all aspects of Gastroenterology but has a special interest in Colon Cancer and other gastrointestinal cancers, IBD and liver diseases. Dr. Strauss has authored numerous articles and book chapters. He is a member of numerous local and national medical societies. He was also a member of the Education Committee of the AGA. He has been on the board of the Georgia CCFA chapter and also participates in voluntary activities with them. Dr. Strauss has 2 daughters and enjoys his time with them. He also enjoys travelling and classical music.
Aasim M. Sheikh, M.D.
Dr. Sheikh is a board certified gastroenterologist. He received his medical degree from The Aga Khan University Medicine College, Karachi, Pakistan. He did his initial fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at State University of New York at Stony Brook, New York. Followed by an advanced fellowship in Transplant Hepatology and Hepato-Biliary Diseases at Westchester County Medical Center, New York Medical College, Valhalla, New York. He was on faculty at University of Alabama at Birmingham Liver Center for a number of years and has co-authored several publications and book chapters with regards to liver diseases and is a member of the European Association for Study of Liver Diseases, American Gastroenterological Association, and American College of Gastroenterology and the American College of Physicians and Faculty of 1000 in Medicine. He is married with two children.
