Alix Lanoue, MD
Dr. Lanoue, a native of Haiti who grew up in Broward County, joined the practice in 2003.
In addition to treating all general GI disorders, Dr. Lanoue also performs both therapeutic and diagnostic ERCPs as well as treatment for swallowing disorders.
Dr. Lanoue was recently appointed First Vice President of the Southeast Chapter of the Association of Haitian Physicians Abroad.
Leon S. Maratchi, MD
Dr. Leon Maratchi is a native of South Florida and is happy to return home to practice medicine with Gastroenterology Consultants, P.A..
During his training, Dr. Maratchi developed specific interests in inflammatory bowel disease, colon cancer and biliary tract disease. He has published multiple research studies in the field of gastroenterology and has authored a textbook chapter on diseases of the large intestine in the elderly.
Barry Migicovsky, MD
Dr. Migicovsky, a native of Montreal, Canada, joined the practice in 1999 after nine years in practice in the community. He has served as Chief of Gastroenterology in the past at both Hollywood Medical Center and Memorial Hospital Pembroke. He has an interest in treating patients with Hepatitis C and has been an active clinical investigator in multiple clinical studies.
Dr. Migicovsky is an expert in capsule endoscopy procedures using the Given Imaging PillCam. He has performed and interpreted hundreds of small bowel capsule procedures.
Dr. Migicovsky serves as Associate Medical Director of South Broward Endoscopy, the endoscopic ambulatory surgery center affiliated with the practice.
Dr. Migicovsky became a Fellow of the American Gastroenterological Association in 2007.
Wayne B. Schonfeld, MD
Dr. Schonfeld, a native of South Florida, is the senior member of the group and has spent his entire professional career at Gastroenterology Consultants, P.A. He serves as Managing Partner of the group and has functioned in this capacity for more than 20 years. In 2009, he was named one of the best doctors in South Florida by Boca Life magazine. In 2010, he was oncce again recognized as one of the best doctors in South Florida by Gold Coast magazine.
Dr. Schonfeld has held numerous leadership positions throughout his career including Chief of Gastroenterology at Memorial Regional Hospital and Hollywood Medical Center. He is a member of the Board of Managers of South Broward Endoscopy, the endoscopic ambulatory surgery center affiliated with the practice.
Dr. Schonfeld has been an active clinical investigator through the affiliated research company, Southern Clinical Research Consultants.
Dr. Schonfeld is a Fellow of both the American College of Gastroenterology and the American College of Physicians.
David S. Weiss, MD
Dr. Weiss is a senior member of the group and has spent his entire professional career at Gastroenterology Consultants, P.A.
Dr. Weiss has been extremely active in hospital medical staff leadership and has held numerous key positions throughout his career including Chief of Gastroenterology at Memorial Regional Hospital and Memorial Hospital West as well as Chief of Medicine at Memorial Hospital West. Currently, Dr. Weiss is Chief of Staff for the medical staff at Memorial Hospital West.
