Delbert L. Chumley, M.D.
Born and raised in San Antonio, Dr. Chumley attended Central Catholic High School and has spent the last three decades in private practice. Although he has special interest and training in therapeutic endoscopy for hepatobiliary, pancreatic, and sphincter of Oddi disorders, he also has extensive expertise in treating patients with Crohn's, ulcerative colitis, and refractory gastroesophageal reflux disease. Dr. Chumley has held several hospital and professional appointments and remains very active in organized medicine, legislative advocacy, and the development of medical education programs. He presently is the vice president of the American College of Gastroenterology, past president of the Texas Society of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy, and past president of the Bexar County Medical Society. He also has served as president of the Texas A&M Medical & Dental Society and of the UTMB Internal Medicine Alumni Association. He continues to help train gastroenterology fellows and maintains a clinical faculty appointment of Professor of Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He and his wife of over 30 years, Louise, are the proud parents of three adult children, Chris, Keith, and Natalie.
Alfredo Espinoza, M.D.
Dr. Espinoza manages patients with a variety of diseases of the gastrointestinal system and he also specializes in the management of patients with liver disease and viral hepatitis. Dr. Espinoza received training in general endoscopic procedures such as upper endoscopy, colonoscopy as well as advanced endoscopic procedures which include ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography).
Dr. Espinoza grew up speaking Spanish and is proud to offer this skill to the benefit of his patients. He and his wife Lori are kept busy raising sons, Diego, Joaquin and Javier in Helotes. When time permits, he enjoys traveling, reading, listening to music and National Public Radio. Dr Espinoza is a proud sponsor of Texas Public Radio’s 180 Group.
Mario Garza, M.D.
Dr. Garza is a San Antonio native and graduate of Central Catholic High School and St. Mary’s University. He has a special interest in therapeutic endoscopy, particularly hepatobiliary diseases and palliation of gastrointestinal cancers. He is very involved in teaching young medical students and is an active participant in numerous professional organizations and societies. Dr. Garza is fluent in Spanish. While away from work, Dr. Garza spends time with his wife and three children and enjoys jogging and fishing.
Fred H. Goldner, M.D.
Dr. Goldner served in the United States Army for 23 years before entering private practice with Gastroenterology Consultants in 1994. During his distinguished career, he held numerous hospital appointments, including Chief of the Department of Internal Medicine and Director of the Residency Program at Brooke Army Medical Center from 1988 to 1993. His research work has appeared in several publications, including medical textbooks and journals. He continues to hold several teaching affiliations, including Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Goldner has two adult children and is the proud grandfather of two lovely girls.
