Monte D. Allen, D.O.

Dr. Allen obtained his BS from the University of Texas at Arlington and his DO from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, affiliated with the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth Texas. He completed his internship and residency training in Internal Medicine from the Osteopathic Medical Center of Texas in Fort Worth Texas. He earned his fellowship in Gastroenterology from the Chicago Osteopathic Hospitals and Medical Centers in Chicago Illinois. Dr. Allen is a Board Certified Gastroenterologist.

Dr. Allen is member of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), Texas Society for Gastroenterolgy and Endoscopy (TSGE), Texas Osteopathic Medical Association (TOMA) and American Osteopathic Association (AOA).

Dr. Allen dedicates all his spare time to his wife, three children and family and friends. He enjoys numerous sports, hunting, snow skiing and scuba diving.

Elsa S Canales, M.D.

Dr. Canales obtained her BA from the University of Texas at Austin and received her MD from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston Texas. She completed her internship and residency training in Internal Medicine and her fellowship in Gastroenterology from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston Texas. Dr. Canales joined Dr. Monte D. Allen in 2004 and together they formed Gastroenterology Consultants of Laredo. Dr. Canales is a Board Certified in Gastroenterology.

Dr. Canales is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE).

Dr. Canales enjoys spending all her spare time with her husband, four children and all her family and friends. She loves traveling the country, cooking special meals and reading.
