Darren S. Baroni, M.D.
Dr. Baroni attended Monmouth University and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Biology. He obtained his Medical Degree at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences Medical School. He then completed his Internal Medicine residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu. His Gastroenterology fellowship was completed at Walter Reed Medical Center. He served several years as an active duty Army Physician achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. His assignments have included Chief of Gastroenterology at Tripler Army Medical Center, Teaching Attending at Walter Reed Medical Center, and a deployment to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is board certified in Gastroenterology and has particular interests in inflammatory bowel disease, motility disorders, and interventional gastroenterology. In his spare time, he enjoys military history, gourmet cooking, Redskins football, and beach water sports.
Edward C. Kim, M.D.
Dr. Kim graduated from Penn State University with a B.S. in Science with High Distinction in 2 years. He earned his Medical Degree at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He then completed his Internal Medicine residency at Medical College of Virginia and his Gastroenterology fellowship at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. He spent an additional year researching pancreatic cancer and then served as an Assistant Professor and Attending in the Gastroenterology department at the State University of New York at Buffalo for 5 years. During that time, Dr. Kim published a review article as well as pursued research interests in colorectal polyps and cancer. He has been practicing Gastroenterology and Hepatology for 12 years, seven with Gastroenterology Associates, PC. He has been board certified in Gastroenterology. Dr. Kim is married, recently enjoying the arrival of a baby girl and lives in Haymarket. He enjoys golf, mogul skiing and traveling.
Myung (Scott) W. Choi, M.D.

Dr. Choi practiced in New Haven, Connecticut for four years, serving as the director of the Esophageal Manometry Unit at Griffin Hospital, and clinical instructor at Yale University. Before joining Gastroenterology Associates in 2006, he also served as an attending physician at Metropolitan Hospital in New York City, and assistant professor of clinical medicine for the New York Medical College. While at Metropolitan Hospital, he received an award for the Best Physician Teacher. Dr. Choi is currently the medical director of the office endoscopy unit in Gainesville. His special interests include esophageal disorders, wireless capsule and biliary endoscopy, and the role of probiotics in digestive disease.
Dr. Choi enjoys martial arts, skiing, and spending time with his family.
