Kumar Gutta, MD

Dr. Gutta is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He earned his M.D. at Wayne State University. He completed his internal medicine residency at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. He then also completed a 3 year fellowship in Gastroenterology at the Mayo Clinic. One year in Therapeutic Endoscopy was completed at UT Southwestern medical center, Dallas, TX. He has been a consulting Gastroenterologist in Fort Worth since 1996.

Besides hemorrhoidal banding, Dr. Gutta has special interest in pancreatic disease and therapeutic Endoscopy. His additional interests include inflammatory bowel disease, colon cancer screening and general gastroenterology. Dr. Gutta is a member of the Tarrant County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, American Gastroenterological association, American College of Gastroenterology, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and Texas Society for Gastroenterology and Endoscopy.

Dr. Gutta grew up in Detroit, Michigan and currently lives in Fort Worth with his wife, one child and two dogs. In addition to spending time with his family, his hobbies include golf, tennis, and reading.

Joseph Shelton, MD

Dr. Joseph Shelton is board certified in both gastroenterology and internal medicine. He earned an A.B. with honors degree from Harvard University in 1995 and received his M.D. degree from the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He then completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas. He completed his gastroenterology fellowship training at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.

Dr. Shelton has published several articles on various gastrointestinal diseases. He is a member of the Tarrant County Medical Society, American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

Dr. Shelton grew up in Dallas. He and his wife enjoy spending time with their children. In his spare time, Dr. Shelton enjoys outdoor activities, motorcycles, and traveling.

Kamal Syed, MD

Dr. Kamal Syed is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Dr. Syed received his M.D. degree from The Aga Khan University Medical College, in his native homeland of Karachi, Pakistan, in 1988. His completed his post-graduate training in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at The Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas in 1996.

Dr. Syed has been in private practice since 1997; he joined G.A.N.T. in 2005. His special interests include ERCP and therapeutic endoscopy.

Dr. Syed is a member of American Gastroenterology Association, American College of Gastroenterology, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Texas Medical Association and Tarrant County Medical Society. Dr. Syed and his wife, Samira, were married in 1989. They have three children. In his leisure time, Dr. Syed enjoys reading, playing tennis, and racquetball.
