John S. Boydstun, MD FACG

Dr. Boydstun was born and raised in Galesburg, Illinois. He graduated cum laude from Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts with a degree in chemistry. Dr. Boydstun earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. He completed a fellowship in medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota then spent three years studying gastroenterology and hepatology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. After 5 years as chief of gastroenterology at Park Nicollet Medical Center in Minneapolis, he returned to Galesburg in 1988 to join the Galesburg Clinic.

Dr. Boydstun is board certified in Internal Medicine. He is the only board certified gastrointestinal specialist in the area. He is a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology, and a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease.
