Steven R. Christensen, M.D.

Dr. ChristensenDr. Christensen was awarded his medical degree by the University of California, San Francisco, which recognized him as the Gold-Headed Cane Society inductee and graduating class commencement speaker. He completed a three year residency in internal medicine at the University of Minnesota following which he spent two years as a gastroenterology fellow at the University of California, San Diego followed by a year of hepatology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

Dr. Christensen is a former chairman of the Department of Medicine at Mercy Regional Medical Center, where he has also served on the Physician Peer Review Organization Committee. He has addressed both the Rocky Mountain Chapter and the national convention of the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates as an invited speaker on liver disease. He was active also with the Midwest Hepatitis Study Group.

Patrick D. Gerstenberger, M.D.

Dr. Gerstenberger Dr. Gerstenberger specializes in gastrointestinal endoscopy and in the prevention, diagnosis, and management of problems of the intestinal tract (esophagus, stomach, small intestine, and colon), biliary tree (gallbladder and bile ducts) and pancreas.

Dr. Gerstenberger graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with high honors and distinction in general scholarship; He attended Harvard University School of Dental Medicine in Boston and Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque and his gastroenterology fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco.

Dr. Gerstenberger is a former President of the Medical Staff at Mercy Regional Medical Center and a former Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University Of New Mexico School Of Medicine. He has served on the governing boards of Mercy Regional Medical Center, the Clinical Outcomes Research Initiative (CORI) and the American Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers. He has also served on the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy's Risk Management Committee and is a past chair of the American College of Gastroenterology's Practice Management Subcommittee. He has lectured and published research papers, reviews and book chapters addressing legal risk management issues in gastrointestinal endoscopy and endoscopic sedation.

Stuart B. Saslow, M.D.

Dr. SaslowDr. Saslow is a magna cum laude graduate of Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, where he completed his degree in Biology. He received his medical degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville and completed his internship and residency at the University of Utah. He completed a three year gastroenterology fellowship at Mayo Clinic, including a research year concentrating on gastrointestinal motility disorders.

Dr. Saslow practiced Internal Medicine in Anchorage, Alaska and Salt Lake City, Utah. During his medical training, he also focused on International Medicine, affording him an opportunity to work in a medical capacity in underdeveloped regions at Sierra Leone, Africa and India. In his gastroenterology fellowship, Dr. Saslow participated in a number of research projects that he published in gastroenterology journals and presented at national gastroenterology meetings.

Dr. Saslow enjoys cycling, whitewater kayaking, and skiing with his family.
