Robert D. Fusco, M.D.
Dr. Fusco was graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh. As an undergraduate, he was elected into membership of Phi Beta Kappa scholastic honor society. In 1973, he received his medical degree with honors, also from the University and was elected into Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society. His specialty training in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology was at Duke University Medical Center in North Carolina. He has been in practice at Sewickley since 1977. Dr. Fusco is board-certified both in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
Dr. Fusco is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the Pennsylvania Society of Gastroenterology, and the American Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers. He is active on the staff of Ohio Valley Hospital, Sewickley Valley Hospital, and Three Rivers Endoscopy Center.
Dr. Fusco was formerly president of Sewickley Medical Association, a multi- specialty group and is now president of the Center for Digestive Health and Nutrition and Medical Director of Three Rivers Endoscopy Center. He is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Dr. Fusco’s clinical interests include diagnosis and treatment of upper intestinal and colon disorders including hemorrhoid treatment.
Renee Flannagan, M.D.
Dr. Flannagan is from California where she graduated summa cum laude from California State University, Fresno. She attended medical school at the Medical College of Pennsylvania. Her special training in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology was at Allegheny General Hospital and the Cleveland Clinic in the Department of Hepatology. During her training, she was able to take advantage of her Spanish speaking abilities and studied in Valencia Spain for one year. She completed one month medical training in San Jose, Costa Rica, serving underprivileged areas and providing basic health care screening and treatment. She also completed a one month rotation in Cochabamba, Bolivia, in the Department of Gastroenterology. She is dual Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
Dr. Flannagan is a member of the Crohns and Colitis Foundation, American Gastroenterological Association and the American College of Gastroenterology. She is active on the staff of Ohio Valley Hospital, Sewickley Valley Hospital, and Three Rivers Endoscopy Center. Dr. Flannagan’s clinical interests include diagnosis and treatment of upper intestinal and colon disorders including hemorrhoid treatment.
Richard Kim, M.D., M.P.H.
Dr. Richard Kim was born in New York and received his B.S. degree in biology and psychology at Georgetown University in 1983. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia in 1987. Dr. Kim completed his residency in Internal Medicine and his specialty training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where he later served as chief Fellow. Following his training, Dr. Kim remained at the University as Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. During his faculty tenure at the University, Dr. Kim was named the Chief of Endoscopy, and later the Associate Chief of the GI section at the University Drive VA Medical Center. Through a grant from the NIH, Dr. Kim completed his Masters of Public Health degree in Epidemiology in 1997 from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health. His career has been distinguished by awards for excellence in clinical research by the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology and the Glaxo Institute for Digestive Health.
Dr. Kim is a diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine and is certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He is an active member of the American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the Pennsylvania Medical Society. Dr. Kim specializes in the esophageal disorders, gastroesophageal reflux disease, cancer of the GI tract, and Therapeutic Endoscopy including ERCP and Endoscopic Ultrasound. He is active on the staff of Sewickley Valley Hospital and Ohio Valley General Hospital, He is a participating physician in Pennsylvania Blue Shield and Medicare. His practice is limited to Gastroenterology. Dr. Kim resides in Wexford with his wife and children.
Frank Kim, M.D.
Dr. Frank Kim (not to be confused with Dr. Richard Kim, his brother) comes to us from the Cleveland Clinic where he was Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine. He was also Therapeutic Endoscopist with the Ohio Permanente Medical Group in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Kim has also held teaching positions at the Washington Hospital Center and the George Washington University Medical Center, where he developed the Flexible Sigmoidoscopy Training Program to instruct medical residents about colon cancer screening. Dr. Frank Kim joined the practice of Drs. Robert Fusco, Ernest Stanley, Richard Kim, and Lester Stine.
Dr. Kim received his B.A. in 1980 from the Johns Hopkins University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He earned his M.D. in 1984 at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and his Masters in Business Science at John Hopkins in 1996. He completed a fellowship in gastroenterology in 1989 at the University of Maryland and did post-graduate research in molecular genetics. He has published numerous articles about Helicobacter Pylori infection. Dr. Frank Kim is Board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Dr. Kim is active on the staff of Ohio Valley Hospital, Sewickley Valley Hospital, and Three Rivers Endoscopy Center. He is a participating physician in PA Blue Shield and Medicare. His major GI interests have been "Helicobacter pylori," Epidemiology and Treatment and Therapeutic Endoscopy. He currently resides in the North Hills with his wife and children. He and his wife are avid volleyball players.
Lester Stine, M.D.
Dr. Lester E. Stine was born in the Pittsburgh area. He received his undergraduate degree in Human Biology from the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. He remained in Baltimore and received his medical degree from Johns Hopkins in 1986. Dr. Stine then completed an Internal Medicine Internship and Residency at the University Hospitals of Cleveland. He received the Charles Carpenter Award for Clinical Excellence as a Senior Resident. Dr. Stine's interest in liver disease took him to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center where he did his Fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Dr. Stine is Board-Certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He scored in the top 10% of candidates taking the gastroenterology boards nationwide. He is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.
Dr. Stine is active on the staff of Ohio Valley Hospital, Sewickley Valley Hospital, and Three Rivers Endoscopy Center. He is a participating physician in PA Blue Shield and Medicare. Dr. Stine is a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterology Association and Pennsylvania Society of Gastroenterology.
Dr. Stine's interests include liver disease, gastrointestinal tumors and therapeutic Endoscopy, including ERCP. He currently resides in Cranberry with his wife and three children. In his leisure time, he enjoys golf, fishing, cooking and, most of all, spending time with his family.
