Edwin Lai, MD
Dr. Lai is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He obtained his BA from the University of Pennsylvania and received his MD from the University of Washington. He completed his internal medicine residency at Stanford University and a fellowship in gastroenterology & hepatology at Boston University. He joined Northwest Gastroenterology Associates in 2007.
Dr. Lai is interested in general gastroenterology and hepatology. He is trained in diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal endoscopy including esophagogastroduodenoscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), enteral and colonic stenting, and video capsule endoscopy.
Dr. Lai is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association (AGA), American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), and the King County Medical Society.
In his spare time, Dr. Lai enjoys golf, snowboarding, hiking, running, and cooking.
V. Mohan, MD
V. Mohan, MD is a board certified Gastroenterologist with Northwest Gastroenterology Associates in Bellevue, Washington. He is also Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at University of Washington in Seattle.
Dr. Mohan received his medical degree from Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi, India. He completed his postgraduate training in Internal Medicine at the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom. He completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of Massachusetts in Worcester, Massachusetts. He completed his specialty fellowship in Gastroenterology at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts.
His clinical interests include Colon Cancer Screening, Acid reflux disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Constipation, Hemorrhoids', Hepatitis Procedures performed include Upper endoscopy, Colonoscopy, ERCP (evaluation of bile and pancreatic ducts), Ablation of Barrett's (Halo Procedure) and Rubber banding of Hemorrhoids
Dr. Mohan has published several articles and is currently involved in numerous clinical research projects including studies regarding Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Functional Dyspepsia, Gastric Ulcer, Gastro esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's Disease.
He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Crohns and Colitis Foundation and Royal College of Physicians of United Kingdom among others.
He is married and has two children. He enjoys traveling and reading.
Roanne R.E. Selinger, M.D
Dr. Selinger is board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine. She obtained her BA from Princeton University and her MD from Vanderbilt University. She then returned to the northwest for her residency in internal medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at the University of Washington. She spent an additional year the University of Washington learning advanced endoscopy. She joined Northwest Gastroenterology Associates in 2005.
Dr. Selinger’s clinical interest includes both gastroenterology and hepatology. She is trained in diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal endoscopy including colonoscopy, esophagogastroduodenoscopy, and endoscopic ultrasound.
Dr. Selinger is a fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and is a member of the King County Medical Society, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American Gastroenterology Association, and the American Medical Association.
In her spare time, Dr. Selinger enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, hiking, reading, scuba diving, and traveling.
Shie-Pon Tzung MD, PhD
Dr. Tzung is board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine. He obtained his MD and PhD degree from National Taiwan University and State University of New York at Buffalo. Subsequently, he completed his internal medicine residency training at Duke University Medical Center and a subspecialty Gastroenterology fellowship at University of Washington. After serving as attending gastroenterologist and hepatologist at University Washington Medical Center for 2 years, Dr. Tzung entered private GI practice in 1999.
Dr. Tzung is a member of American gastroenterological Association and American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Other than devoting to his busy practice, Dr. Tzung also co chairs Washington State Hepatitis B Task Force. In his spare time, Dr. Tzung enjoys traveling, skiing, hiking and taichi.
Robert A Wohlman, MD
Dr. Wohlman is a native of the greater Seattle area. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of
Washington in 1977 with a Degree in Biology. He attended medical school at St. Louis University School of
Medicine, and completed his internal medicine residency at St. Vincent Hospital Medical Center in Portland,
Oregon. His gastroenterology fellowship was in Phoenix, Arizona. He is board certified in both
gastroenterology and internal medicine. He has been practicing at Northwest Gastroenterology since 1987. He
is on medical staff at Overlake Hospital Medical Center, Swedish Hospital, and Snoqualmie Valley Hospital.
Dr. Wohlman's practice includes both gastroenterology and hepatology. He has a special interest in inflammatory bowel disease, hepatitis, and cancer prevention. He is trained in diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal endoscopy including colonoscopy, esophagogastroduodenoscopy, and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography.
Dr. Wohlman is a member of the King County Medical Society, Northwest Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American Gastroenterology Association. He has served on the Board of Directors at Overlake Hospital Medical Center and as Chairman of the Department of Medicine, Nutritional Support, Pharmacy and Therapeutics, and Quality Improvement. He currently is Chairman of Continuing Medical Education. He has been primary investigator for numerous clinical trials involving Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, peptic ulcer disease, gastroesophageal reflux, irritable bowel syndrome, and hepatitis. He has served as a speaker for The American Cancer Society and the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation, and has been on the Physician Advisory Board for the American Liver Foundation Northwest Chapter, Centocor, Abbott, and Schering.
