Rowena Garcia-Chuapoco, MD

Dr. Chuapoco received her medical degree from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines in 1988. She did her Internship at Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, IL and completed her Internal Medicine Residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, CA.

Dr. Chuapoco has been practicing in Daly City, CA since 1997. She believes in providing compassionate and quality health care with special interests in women's digestive health issues, colon cancer screening, GERD, and viral hepatitis. Dr. Chuapoco is well trained in various aspects of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. She is very much involved in the community and participates in various overseas charitable efforts and medical missions. She is fluent in Spanish and Tagalog. Dr. Chuapoco"s husband is a dentist and they have 3 children. In her free time, she loves travelling, swimming and hiking. She is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association and the American College of Gastroenterology.

Dr. Chuapoco is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

Mark Tsuchiyose, MD

Graduated from USC Magna Cum Laude in biological sciences and USC Medical School in 1983. His internship was at USC/LAC Medical center where he returned in 1987 for his Gastroenterology Fellowship. Dr. Tsuchiyose’s residency and Hepatology Fellowship was at Huntington Memorial Hospital. He is a member of many of the national professional organizations including the American Gastroenterology Association.

Dr. Tsuchiyose has been practicing at Seton Medical Center since 1989 where he was recruited for his ERCP skills partly honed in Holland and Japan. He has been chief of GI for the last 9 years and an Associate Clinical Professor at UCSF. He served as president of Gastroenterology Specialty Network and is currently president of Digestive Diagnostic Center where part of his duties is to assure high quality and safe endoscopic procedures. He is also president of Physicians for the Preservation of Private Practice, a multispecialty physician group at Seton dedicated to non-corporate driven medical care.

Dr. Tsuchiyose has always supported new technology in his practice such as capsule Endoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound and Impedance monitoring for GERD.
