David A. Atefi M.D.

Dr. AtefiDr. Atefi completed his medical degree and first internship at the National University of Iran Medical School in Tehran, Iran. He then completed a second internship at MacNeal Memorial Hospital in Berwyn, Illinois. Following his residency at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo, Dr. Atefi completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. He has been in private practice in Atlanta since 1979. Dr. Atefi is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterology Association and the Southern Medical Association.

William E. Bizzaro M.D.

Dr. BizzaroDr. Bizzaro is a magna cum laude graduate of St. Johns University in Jamaica, N.Y., and also holds a PhD in physics from New York University. After receiving his medical degree from Downstate Medical School, State University of New York in Albany, he completed both his internship and residency at Bronx Municipal Hospital-Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, N.Y. He completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at Montefiore Medical Center-Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Yeshiva University in New York. Dr. Bizzaro previously served as a both a teaching assistant and research fellow at New York University and has been in private practice in Atlanta since 1987. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Medical Association.

Edward C. (Chris) Cameron M.D.

Dr. CameronA graduate of Harvard College, Dr. Cameron completed his medical degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After completing his residency in internal medicine at Baylor Hospitals in Houston, Texas, he began practicing in Houston at the MacGregor Clinic and then moved to Atlanta where he worked for Prucare. In 1987, he completed his fellowship in digestive diseases at the University of Mississppi in Jackson, Miss., and returned to Atlanta to begin his gastroenterology practice. He has worked with several groups in the Atlanta area since then, including Kaiser Permanente, and joined Atlanta Gastroenterology in 2007. Dr. Cameron's particular areas of expertise include EGD, colonoscopies, polypectomies, dilatation and biopsies.

Robert M. Eisenband, M.D.

Dr. EisenbandDr. Eisenband received his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine. Following his internship and residency at Emory-Grady Memorial Hospital, he completed fellowships in digestive diseases and gastrointestinal endoscopy at Emory and received the Lloyd Hyde Research Award. He holds positions as a clinical assistant professor of medicine at both Emory University and Grady Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Eisenband is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Gastroenterologic Association, the Georgia Gastroenterological Society, the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American Medical Association, the Medical Association of Georgia, and the Medical Association of Atlanta.

Kamil Obideen M.D.

Dr. ObideenAfter completing medical school at the University of Aleppo School of Medicine in Syria, Dr. Obideen moved to the United States where he completed his internship and residency at the Emory University School of Medicine. During his residency, he was awarded the Dr. N. Tiliakos Award for Excellence as a Resident in Internal Medicine. His fellowships in gastroenterology and hepatology were also completed at Emory University School of Medicine.

In 2005, he was appointed Assistant Professor of Medicine at Emory and as Director of the Hepatology Clinic at the Atlanta Veterans Administration (VA) Medical Center. He was appointed GI Fellowship Associate Director at Emory in 2008 and was named 'Attending of the Year' in the medical school's Division of Digestive Diseases.

In his role as an Assistant Professor and GI Fellowship Associate Director at Emory University School of Medicine, Dr. Obideen has lectured frequently on a variety of gastrointestinal issues to medical students, residents and fellows, and has spoken at several GI conferences and meetings. His clinical and academic activities focused on pancreatobiliary, liver and colon diseases as well as advanced therapeutic endoscopy. He has actively participated in a number of clinical research projects and has authored and co-authored numerous articles, which have appeared in several publications including Practical Gastroenterology, Digestive Diseases and Sciences, Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology Journal, and The Journal of Virology.

In addition to his medical board certifications, Dr. Obideen holds a National Board of Nutrition Support Certification (NBNSC). He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American Society of Nutrition Support. Dr. Obideen joined the practice in 2009.
