Alvaro Reymunde, MD, FACP, FACG, AGAF

Dr. Alvaro Reymunde is borad certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He completed his Internal Medicine training at Damas Hospital, Ponce, PR and then proceeded to complete his Gastroenterology training at the University of Pennsylvania. During the 20 years he has been in practice, Dr. Reymunde has distinguished himself as being on the cutting edge of the latest advances in the field of Gastroenterology, being the first one to introduce into the Island most of the newly introduced procedures or technologies.

Besides his private practice, Dr. Reymunde is actively involved in academics, for years, he was director of the Gastroenterology Fellowship Program at Damas Hospital in Ponce and is currently Assistant Professor of Medicine for Ponce School of Medicine. He is widely recognized as one of Puerto Rico’s top Clinical Investigators in the field of Gastroenterology and as Speaker on topics ranging from GERD and diseases of the upper GI tract to inflammatory bowel disease and hepatitis B and C.
